RECENT POSTS

These retreat days are led by Sandrine and offer an opportunity to deepen our practice and understanding. Held in a safe space and beautiful location, participants are gently guided through various mainstream mindfulness practices, exploring their experiences in each moment, with the mindful approach – curiosity and kindness. The day is spent in noble silence, conducive to ‘coming home to ourselves’.

The format is similar to MBSR retreat day but the practices are slightly longer and deeper. We will go through the main practices of body scan, sitting meditations, mindful walking and movements. The day will also include one to one interviews of about 10mins with Sandrine, to talk about any issues, difficulties or questions you may have about your formal and informal practice.

This retreat day is the same format as most of the mainstream mindfulness retreats such as given by Bangor CMRP, Gaya house, The Mindful Network etc. I wish to offer these graduate retreat days twice a year to deepen your practice, offer an opportunity to talk about your practice and also to prepare graduates for longer retreats of the same style.

Testimonials for Sandrine’s retreat days

“A wonderful experience all round – lovely venue” June 2019

“The retreat day was a great experience and I will definitely be booking myself onto another in the near future. I found being silent brought total stillness and self care which never happens much in day to day life with the constant chaos that surrounds us” June 2019

“The retreat day was the culmination of the practices that had been introduced over the previous weeks. The opportunity to immerse myself in a full day of mindfulness was a real treat and gave me the confidence to continue the journey on my own. Sandrine is a fantastic tutor and her calm and relaxed approach made everyone at ease and feel truly engaged”. 2018

“Loved the inclusive feel. Very nurturing” 2018

“If you feel under stress from modern living, whether it be from outside pressures or inner ones in your private life, then this retreat will give you space to take a breath and regain your balance. The feeling of freedom from spending most of the day in silence is surprising; one relaxes without the pressure of social interaction.

Being guided to drop down into oneself in meditation of the body and the breath, as well as learning how to enable random thoughts to flow out of the mind, gives you a skill which is essential for living each day more calmly, with greater awareness of yourself and your environment.

There are a variety of ‘activities’ too, such as walking with full awareness, as if one is walking for the first time. Also, there is a walk outside, when the natural world is observed with heightened awareness. At the end of the day there is an informal discussion in which participants may talk over their experiences.

And for this retreat you could not find a better mentor and guide than Sandrine Cranswick who enables you to find a state of space and calm that is both refreshing and essential”. Peter 2018

"Mindfulness is to be attentive to the present moment, with curiosity, openness and non-judgment. It means to be aware of what we are doing while we are doing it, rather than being dragged away in the past or the future, or driven by our habitual patterns, or caught up in thoughts and stories."
